There are so many great spaces in the Davenport basement, I had to spread out the posts. But this will conclude the Davenport series :) So it's a collection of little spots that have interesting detail.
The game space is highlighted by a polished nickel fixture that I love. Another backorder issue, but we got it. The wall on the right is still waiting for the perfect piece of art. A little art will be fun. Mike did hang a fantastic piece he commissioned of Bill Murray in the entrance to the basement. I actually love it. I think it sets for the tone for the party that waits. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture.
The basement bathroom is another fun area. They put in my favorite plumbing, a steam shower. When the Noble Designs empire has grown I will have one in my master. For now, I just sit in a hot shower and pretend. We accented the shower with a blue glass tile which is actually called midnight booty call. I feel like their isn't a lot of humor in tile so I appreciate the fun title. It is sexy. I love the opaque glass and the movement in it. The plumbing is modern with clean lines and the dark blue walls complete the look.
The entrance into the basement is adorned with sconces and a mirror to keep the light moving. The exercise room is also classy. We had to have a wall of doors. We needed access to the guts of the basement and a closet for the room in case it ever became a bedroom but with an entire wall of doors I needed to dress them up. So Greg worked with me to create these simple framed mirror doors. It looks like a million bucks but was budget friendly.
I'm really proud of this basement. I think our space planning and finish selections make it a useable beautiful space. Cheers!
