I do lots of field trips to the West Bottoms. The West Bottoms in Kansas City is a vintage and antique dream. It continues to grow each month, giving me more and more eye candy to view. It's open the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of every month. There is street music piped out of speakers and lots of food trucks, making the atmosphere a party. I use to go early to get a jump start and often went unshowered. And then I realized I ran into more people I knew down there than I did the local grocery store. So now I have a little more motivation to put on lipstick.
Angie Hernandez was a fun shopping partner. We were there with her dining room in mind. She had seen a fabulous room in Elle Decor and we used it as inspiration for her focal wall. We needed a gold gilded mirror. The gaudier the better :) We ended up with a gem for a steal of the price. I can't wait to get the whole room pulled together. It's going to be fabulous! The Hernandez just built an amazing home and I can't wait to show it off in future posts.
After Angie left, I searched for other clients looking for fun accessories and one of a kind finds. The only problem now is it is hard for me to let go of my treasures. I want to keep most of them for myself.
After all the work I surely deserved a treat. I found Kansas City Cupcake Co. and the best treat ever. I'm a bit of cupcake expert and their vanilla and chocolate ganache were to die for. Really great!
So be sure to mark your calendar for the next first Friday. As an extra bonus we are coming into the best weather months for this field trip. I'll see you there!
