Welcome to my new blog! And welcome 2014! For those of you that know me this is old news but 2013 couldn't leave fast enough. It was year full of hardships and heartbreak and difficult change but as I turn the corner I feel happy. My dearest grandma who passed last year told me in her last email to me that being happy is a choice and you have to make it happen. So here goes Grandma Gert.
On some upbeat notes, I built a house and worked on some fantastic projects in 2013 and I can't wait to share them. I have documented my new home build and just hope I can I share the raw emotion that went into it as I recap for you. There were a few things that sent me into a tailspin so it's probably good I have a little time and perspective before commenting :)
I'm excited to be expanding Noble Designs. We have two office managers to help us better communicate timely with our clients and I just added a new designer. The staff can all be seen in contacts. I plan to make them all help me blog but we'll see if they are game. I am also really excited to start the Noble Designs blog and our on-line shop. It's a work in progress so please check back frequently and tell everyone. The more readers we get the more options we have. I promise to try to fill the entries with unique pictures and information. So read, pin, and pass on.
Let's start with new home. I am building a modest suburban home near my kids school. I tell everyone I tried to build a million dollar home on a quarter of the budget. I neither built the $1,000,000 home nor did I only spend a quarter of that budget but I love the outcome. I think it's different than all the model homes you see in Kansas City's suburbs, yet it fits. My kind, new neighbors have been accepting and complimentary of my glowing white house in a sea of earth tones and I'm grateful for them and this home.
The picture above is a quick peak at the outside. It wasn't quite done. The door isn't painted, a shutter is missing but it was close. We didn't get the sprinkler system and sod in before the ground froze but eventually it will all get done.
Here are the million dollar inspirations....
