Capital Building in Des Moines www.saranobledesigns.com
Field Trip Friday was actually out of town this time. We had a graduation to go to in Huxley, IA and we made a trip out of it with an overnight stay in Des Moines. It was a short trip but fun. We met a friend and his girlfriend for a late dinner. The casual bar was fun but not a lot of decor inspiration. The next day we had lunch at a fantastic dive bar and I wish I had a picture of the shag carpet, 70s light fixture and overfill of laminate but I failed to take one. We headed up to the local architectural salvage shop only to find out it was closed for the holiday. Oh well. The downtown was beautiful, the food was good and I did manage a shot of the capital building that showcases the grandeur of gold. So todays post is dedicated to our good time in Des Moines and my love for gold.

If that lamp isn't enough to just die for you have to love the gold bookshelves and nesting tables.

I need this hung right beside my mirror in the closet. A golden reminder.

A less than stellar photograph I realize but had to show off my golden stapler. This brass and black beauty was found at one of my West Bottoms shopping sprees.
